Optional Activities for Students

CM (Certificate of Merit)

This is a test held once a year by the MTAC for students of various levels of accomplishment. A student’s musical ability can be evaluated overall for performance, sight reading, ear training and theory. This evaluation provides each student opportunities for better performance, leading to greater achievements.

Recitals

There will be a fall and spring recital and students are highly encouraged to participate. A professional accompanist will be hired and a rehearsal will be arranged for each recital.

Auditions for School and Community Orchestras

I can help students prepare for auditions for school or local youth orchestras.

Competitions

Several competitions are held in Southern California every year. Students can prepare for competitions by selecting compositions according to their levels of accomplishment.
